1. Once the equipment is in your care, you are bound by these conditions.
2. The chargeable hire period begins the day the equipment leaves GAIA RESOURCES PTY LTD and concludes the day they receive it back. The dates you specify in the online form will be adjusted according to this scheme, including for early or late returns. Total hire cost for this period will be charged according to our current standard daily rate.
3. Cancellation of bookings prior to the first day of hire attracts no fee, but please inform Kyle of changes to your schedule at your earliest convenience.
4. You agree to pay the costs of the courier and data handling by GAIA RESOURCES PTY LTD, which will be specified in the invoice from SPECIALISED ZOOLOGICAL.
5. You agree to take good care of the equipment, including during transport on flights and in vehicles, and, for example, by avoiding exposure to rain, dew and long periods in the sun. The condition of the equipment upon its return is compared routinely against digital photographs that we take immediately prior to it being prepared and packed for you.
6. You agree to pay full costs of repair or replacement (at the discretion of SPECIALISED ZOOLOGICAL) if the equipment, its protective case, and/or accessories (including freight costs) becomes damaged while in your care. Minor damage such as scratches might attract a small fee, at the discretion of SPECIALISED ZOOLOGICAL.
7. If the equipment does not function in the field as it should because of a setup error or other responsibility on the part of SPECIALISED ZOOLOGICAL or GAIA RESOURCES PTY LTD, hire fees for the period will be reduced or waived, depending on the circumstances and at the discretion of SPECIALISED ZOOLOGICAL. Please inform SPECIALISED ZOOLOGICAL of any problems, since it might be possible to resolve them over the telephone.
8. While SPECIALISED ZOOLOGICAL and GAIA RESOURCES PTY LTD will endeavour to arrange the freight of the equipment to meet your planned schedule, they cannot be held responsible or liable for delays or other failures on the part of the third party courier / freight handling company.
9. In the event that the equipment is delivered to you by the courier in a damaged condition, you must notify immediately either SPECIALISED ZOOLOGICAL or GAIA RESOURCES PTY LTD, preferably with an accompanying digital photo showing the damage. GAIA RESOURCES PTY LTD will then take up the matter separately with the courier company. You will not be liable for damages made by the courier.
10. In the event that the equipment is delivered to GAIA RESOURCES PTY LTD in a damaged condition following the survey, GAIA will make a judgement on whether the damage is likely to have arisen during the freight period, or during the survey, and charge for damages accordingly.
11. SPECIALISED ZOOLOGICAL or GAIA RESOURCES PTY LTD will not bear any cost or liability arising from the loss of opportunity to collect data if the equipment fails to function as it should, regardless of whether the fault lies with SPECIALISED ZOOLOGICAL or you, the client, or the courier.
12. Each Anabat SD1 unit requires four AA batteries, which should be replaced daily. You will need to supply your own batteries.
13. SPECIALISED ZOOLOGICAL request payment within 30 days of submission of the invoice. Late payments (over 90 days) will attract an additional accounting fee of $100.
