Strategy

We think that providing strategic advice is all about taking a "big picture" approach to the requirements of our clients.

Strategic assessment is something we consider (to at least a basic level) in every project that we undertake. If you are looking to implement digital field data collection activites or develop and internal GIS capability, does it meet with your plans for the business? Are you prepared to invest in the required resources and can your business handle the overheads that these changes may bring?

We also use our Gaia Resources Solutions Model (shown below) to look how strategy leads the business, and where the changes to one solution area can affect other areas.

We also use more complex strategic tools such as the Information Technology Interaction Model (Silver, Mark S., Markus, M. Lynne, and Beath, Cynthia M., "The Information Technology Interaction Model: A Foundation for the MBA Core Course," Management Information Systems Quarterly, volume 19, no. 3, September 1995, pp. 361-390.) to deliver our solutions.

We strongly believe that it is impossible to undertake any form of strategic evaluation or assessment without really getting to know your business - and not just what's written in your business plan, but what you actually do. That's where our relationship building efforts with our clients and where our experience - we've been in the field, and we know what it's like - really comes to the fore.

We have undertaken a range of strategic projects, and have provided strategic advice to our clients in many forms:
