Gaia Resources now offers a range of web hosting solutions to our clients. We offer two types of hosting:

Our complete costs for a hosting are outlined in a PDF document that can be downloaded from here, or you can read on for some information about the basic costs of the hosting packages. We will also provide a range of reporting tools, and also a Service Level Agreement to cover the services.

Web Hosting

Our web hosting solution is suitable for a range of different web sites, ranging from simple pages through to more detailed setups.

Our base costs currently start at $1,120 (ex GST) for the initial setup of the infrastructure, and then ongoing hosting costs can be from as little as $230 (ex GST) per year, for a single domain with 100MB of disk space and 5GB of traffic. Additional disk space, traffic and support can also be purchased.

Biological Data Recording System Hosting

The Biological Data Recording System (BDRS) is a web-based biological (and now non-biological) data recording system, developed by Gaia Resources and freely available as an open source package. You can find out more about the BDRS and if it will work for your organisation here .

We offer two packages for BDRS Hosting, namely a "Single Use Instance" or a "Shared Use Instance". A "Single Use Instance" means that the client has exclusive use of that BDRS Instance, and can also have Root access to the BDRS Instance to make changes such as adding additional Portals, etc. A "Shared Use Instance" will have up to 5 clients using the same Instance. In this case, we provide Administrator level access, meaning you can only change your own BDRS Portal, and cannot access other Portals.

"Single Use Instances" start at a base cost of $1,910 (ex GST) per year, including a single domain, 2GB of disk space, 5GB/month of traffic and includes us performing updates to the BDRS. "Shared Use Instances" cost less, at $580 (ex GST) per year, including a single domain, 2GB of disk space, 5GB/month of traffic and all updates. In both cases, additional disk space, bandwidth and other options can be purchased, along with technical support.

In both cases, setup of the BDRS is run under a separate contract, which will vary depending on the requirements your organisation has. You can contact us for more information on how we can help you with this setup under a commercial arrangement.
