gvSIG Mobile Version 0.2 was released 04/03/09, the key feature of this release is the ability to create new features. The previous 0.1 release only allowed for viewing of vector features and this was obviously a major deterrent to using the software.

Also in this release is a new installer with integrated virtual machine, installation is now essentially one click which is a big improvement on the previous version as well as the ability to create custom forms.

This version has fixed the three key issues with gvSIG mobile that prevented it from competing with the commercial offerings and will open it up for usage by a much larger user base.

UPDATE 17/03/09 – gvSIG Mobile has been ported to the Linux based operated system OpenMoko
