CSIRO CollectiveAccess Production

Overview

CSIRO’s National Research Collections of Australia (NRCA) have previously engaged Gaia Resources to undertake an environment scan of the likely suitable Collections Management Systems, and then to undertake a Pilot project with the chosen system, CollectiveAccess.  After these two projects, we were engaged to then support the team at CSIRO – including their Information Management and Technology team, as well as the curators and collection managers within NRCA – to begin the move of their existing collections data to the new platform, with a focus on the Australian National Insect Collection and the Australian National Herbarium.  Our team worked remotely with CSIRO for almost a full year, as part of the team delivering configuration, data migration and customisation services in an Agile manner, as well as transferring as much knowledge as possible to the team to enable them to become self-sufficient.
