Overview
Built as a prototype and currently under redevelopment for a larger launch, the Tasmanc project commenced in 2017 and was aimed at combining collection information with tourism information. The choice was made to implement the prototype site in the Drupal platform.
Using an Agile methodology, development occurred rapidly and was tested by the collection institutions around Tasmania. The submission process for these institutions was based on a relatively simple Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, that is able to be ingested through an Amazon Web Services serverless build, minimising operational costs. Through this approach, there are no major technology requirements acting as a barrier to participation for the collecting institutions.
