Upcoming Events for Gaia Resources

We are all well aware of the impacts that COVID-19 has had on how we work and the types of events we can attend. Where we once may not have hesitated to go interstate to attend events, we now have to think about what is happening in other States or if there are border restrictions in place. In saying that, at Gaia Resources we are still doing our best to attend events and conferences where possible, including a few between now and the end of the year:

This week the Australian Society of Archivists Inc, Archives Amplified Conference is being held in Brisbane. Initially this was going to be held as an in-person event which Piers was planning to present at, but unfortunately the impacts of COVID meant the decision was made to instead hold the conference virtually.

On November 12 Gaia will be co-hosting the FOSS4G SotM Oceania Conference, which is part of a conference series of the international organisations ‘Free Open Source For Geospatial’ and ‘State of the Map’. Conferences will be held in many locations including Hobart, Canberra, Melbourne and Perth as well as other international locations. Our Perth Hub offers an inspiring and innovative non-profit event and includes conference sessions, workshop days, and a community day for mapathons.

On November 16-18, our Darwin resident Chris will attend the Territory National Resource Management (NRM) Conference, the Northern Territory’s leading conference on natural resource management expertise, on ground activities and community engagement.

If you are also attending any of the above conferences we would love to see you, or feel free to email us or start a conversation with us on Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn.
