In late 2025, we headed to windy Wellington for the wonderful iPRES and PARBICA conferences. During this trip we had an inspiring question to answer: is there a way to empower passionate archiving professionals to deliver Digital Preservation on a budget? The feedback was loud and clear - both small teams and solo practitioners across the world wanted practical, sustainable tools that don't require a million-dollar tech stack. So, as we talked about at those conferences, we promised to look into what we could do.
2026 is here, and we are delivering on that promise.
We are officially preparing to drop the first installments in our new training ecosystem:
- The Professional Program: A comprehensive training course with expert-led intensive sessions (in-person or online), across multiple days, for teams keen to master open-source workflows. These courses are now ready to be delivered - and we’re now taking bookings, so get in touch with us via training@gaiaresources.com.au to register your interest.
Bookings for the professional program will fund future developments of more open source tools such as our second part of the training ecosystem:
- Free Series of Videos: Modular, self-paced YouTube tutorials and "in-the-trenches" guides. The first of these videos will drop in the next fortnight, as we finalise the recordings and tweak the training material, and we’ll be informing those people that have registered their interest as soon as it drops.
