Gaia Resources has been working on the BioSys project in conjunction with the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA) since 2015. This project seeks to build on that investment in collaboration with NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment (DPIE) to produce a pilot project to support their Koala field data capture program. This produced a number of important enhancements to the existing BioSys system particularly in the areas of authentication and roles, but most importantly the creation of a BioSys mobile data collection tool.
