In 2023 and 2024 Gaia Resources delivered a new Digital Preservation System for the Queensland State Archives, following on from our previous work on their Archival Management System. We did this in conjunction with our consortium partners from Hudson Molonglo and Recordkeeping Innovation through the Digital Archiving Program (DAP) within the Queensland Government.
This is another open source system - this integrates ArchivesSpace with Archivematica and ensures that digital files that are transferred to the Queensland State Archives can be preserved into the future. While this system runs behind the scenes, the system delivers more digital records through the ArchivesSearch public interface, as well as delivering Archival Information Packages into long term, robust and redundant cloud based data storage.
Gaia Resources continues to maintain a presence in supporting the operational side of these systems through an ongoing support contract, whereby we provide support, maintenance, enhancements and an evergreening service to keep the systems up to date.
